• My favorite (mostly metal) albums of 2010 - Final list!

    30 Dec 2010, 23:55 by hurricane_mario

I am fairly open-minded (as you should be), so expect any genre in here, though metal is definitely my favorite. However, I usually won't bother to review non-metal releases unless it's one of the extremes - really good, or really bad and I feel like trashing it. Though, I'm just realizing that my taste has shifted away from metal even more this year...

This is my final list, containing almost every album I have listened to which came out in 2010. I will not be updating this entry any more unless someone enlightens me to something super-fantastic that came out this year that I missed. I can’t believe 2010 is over already, it seems like yesterday it was new years eve, and now it is tomorrow again. I will likely not do a list like this again next year, its too much work. But it's been fun and a good way to keep track of the excessive amounts of music I like. Perhaps next year just a top 20 and other great ones.

A playlist including one song off each of the top 20 albums and 7 other songs, is up on my blog as of 1/9/11. …

Keep in mind, I am rating these albums as a whole, not judging it based on the quality of particular songs. For example, if there are no songs that stand out as good, but the album is a concept album that reveals to me the meaning of life through music, it would probably be #1. Production is a BIG part of my review process as well, it's 2010 so I want my albums to sound futuristic, refined and shiny!

Top 10 in order, rest of categories are alphabetical.

" ...dissapointment" Where albums I really wanted did not meet or exceed expectations.

    bold is a must-listen!!

And please comment, either to debate my reviews or to recommend me albums I don't know about!

  • Metal bands that have released an album/EP in 2009

    31 Dec 2008, 18:13 by gunleik

Much of the information in the "Will realease" is wrong! haven't updated it yet...

    READ THIS:
Firstly, some of this info IS wrong. Since it's so many bands, and the dates may change etc., I can't keep track of them all.
    TBA means to be announced.
Some of the albums on WILL RELEASE may be working titles, which means that the band may change it. That counts for the release dates too.

    Example:
    Genre (Additional genre)
    - Band - Album (EP/split/itunes/demo) (release date)
(town, country: if there're several bands with same name / former band name: if they've changed it)

    ______________________________________________________________

    HAVE RELEASED

    Avant-garde metal
    - Ensoph - REX MUNDI X-ILE

    Black metal
    - 1349 - Revelations of the Black Flame

    - A Transylvanian Funeral - A Transylvanian Funeral

    - Ajattara - Noitumaa

    - Beherit - Engram

    - Black Torment / Motörpenis - United Forces Of Blasphemy (split)
    (Black Torment: Mexico)

    - <code> - Resplendent Grotesque

Seeing it in other Last profiles, I think it's a good idea in order to arrange and to not forget any concert (or at least, forget less concerts :P). I included bands that I enjoyed. And of course there are others than I saw in festivals or supporting another bands, but I think it's stupid to add them to the list if I didn't liked them. I hope that the list continues growing :)
Maybe in the future I'll add the HORRORS that I run away from XD

    1349
    Absu
    Accept
    Acid King
    Adrift
    Aerosmith
    Agalloch

Tue 29 May – Nanowar of Steel - Sofia

    Nanowar of Steel

  • Storia della musica demenziale

    29 Oct 2006, 21:43 by DarkNeuroShadow
