Nick Gent is a founding member of the Golden Dawn, based in London, formed in 1998 with Ben Skultety.
Nick first trained as a classical flute player, but wanted to branch out from what he felt were the confines of form and rule.
In early 2008 he released via jamendo a creative commons licensed body of work, as a kind of appetite whetter for more full releases to follow. A collection of some Demo-work to date, it has been extremely well received and first full album is due to be released by the end of this year.
The Golden Dawn play a mixture of music; from reggae, folk, blues, jazz, ragtime, world, and country, to psychedelic, ambient, and improvisational based work. Nick also plays guitar,drums/percussion and many other instruments. He also is a Producer/Engineer for the Golden Dawn and his other soon to be released solo/collaborative side-projects.
