Set You Free is the first hit single from group N-Trance, featuring vocals from Kelly Llorenna. It was first released as a white label record in , when Llorenna was still a teenager, and was given a full release the next year on the All Around The World record label, reaching number 81 in the UK Singles Chart.

The following year the song was remixed and re-released, this time becoming their first Top 40 hit when it peaked at number 39 in April . This release was re-issued in January , entering at number 6 and climbing to number 2, making it N-Trance’s highest charting single in their home country, a record it still has today along with their cover of Stayin’ Alive by the Bee Gees. It spent 15 weeks in the top 75 and was the 17th biggest selling single of 1995, and was included on their album Electronic Pleasure. In Australia it peaked at number 11 and was the 39th biggest selling single of 1995.

In the song was given a remix by DJ Rob Searle, returning the song to the top 10 when it peaked at number 4 in September that year. The song again appeared in the charts at the beginning of , when it reached number 64.

In , the song was covered by band Frightened Rabbit and released as a b-side to their single Head Rolls Off. The song was also covered by Malcolm Middleton (formerly of Arab Strap) at the 2008 Latitude Festival.
