Biography

Mutabor was founded 1990 and consisted originally of a couple of fellow university students.

The style they play is hard to describe because it borrows from lots of different styles such as Rock, Folk, Ska, Reggae, Pop and Punk.
Over the years most of the members of Mutabor were replaced by others, leaving only Axel Steinhagen (Vocals, Guitar) and Helen Bauerfeind (Violin, Vocals) from the original crew. The other members of the band for the last tour were Ulf Jacobs (Drums), Lars Cölln (Guitar, Bongos), Diana Schmitz (sax, flute, pipes, clarinet) and Marcus Lauer (Bass)

The name derives from latin mutare which means transmute or transform. Mutabor is a magic word in the fairy tale of caliph stork.

On the seventh of July 2006 Mutabor held their last concert with all musicians whoever played in the band.
