About This Track

Stockholm syndrome is a real, psychological effect sometimes seen in an abducted hostage, in which the hostage shows signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker, regardless of the danger or in which they have been placed.

This song was made available as downloadable content for Guitar Hero 3.

Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater covered the intro on his drumming focused ‘‘In Constant Motion‘‘ DVD

When the chorus is played backwards, the message ” You can’t see me, you sneak off. I lost your love. Please … save me” can be heard.

According to Matthew Bellamy, the riff in the song is inspired by System of a Down.

MOAR HEAVY. In one live recording I have of this song at Rock Am Ring '06 Matt screamed "I WISH IAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" at the end of the last chorus as it leads into the outro riff. So much more effective. Wish he'd done that on the album version....

when Matt stretches his voice and goes up high on the scale he really does sound like Thom. Which isn't a bad thing at all.
