The young man stands on the edge of his porch
The days were short and the father was gone
There was no one in the town and no one in the field
This dusty barren land had given all it could yield

  • 'So collect your courage and collect your horse...' Such a good story! I love this song.

  • I played this song to death before we saw these in the early days at Northampton, amazing gig. Recordings don't convey much of the atmosphere you got in a small venue. Never felt the same about the second album.
  • One of my very favorites by them. and absolutely fantastic live!
  • Easily my favourite of them right now.
  • I went out back and I got my gun. I said, "You haven't met me, I am the only son"
  • Diese Band ist ein Segen für die Musikwelt!
  • so good
  • I guess this will be their best song until doomsday...
  • The drums, guitars...like everything <3 especially towards the end. just a big collision, crescendo of raw awesomeness!!! <3 ... sigh.
