Mr. Forky was singer/songwriter Josh Miesmer’s first solo project, with help from producer Kenny Siegal. Under the name Mr. Forky, Josh only released one, 14 track, self-titled album off of Fang Records in 2002.

Josh Miesmer was taught to play blues guitar by Dave Rubin, a well known teacher, author of instructional books, columnist in Guitar Player magazine, and senior editor for Guitar One magazine. Throughout high school, Josh was in a ska/dub band called the Crumb Tynees. After high school, he left his band and went to Bennington College to study jazz guitar and made a small jazz band. But after school he moved back to New York City and quit jazz. He began to play bass guitar for rock groups such as Duckwood, Peck Slip, Chris Max, and afro-beat band Synopsis, before going on his own in bands Downie and The Ferns.

Finally, after many band changes, he went solo under the pseudonym Mr. Forky. He then contacted Kenny Siegal, frontman of the band Johhny Society. He knew Kenny from when his old band Duckwood and Kenny’s first combo Hunk were signed to a deal with the same Polygram contract. He asked Kenny to help him produce songs for debut recordings. Thus, resulting in Mr. Forky. Once the album was done, a tour with Johhny Society followed.
