This song is basically a boy band ballad before boy bands even existed. Don't get me wrong, it's one of the great ballads from the hair metal era, along with "More Than Words", "Wind of Change" and"Crazy" ("Every Rose Has Its Thorne" fail to make the cut). But I believe all these songs are the main reason why the so-called hair metal/glam metal eventually died, as the music became much more ballad-heavy than well... heavy. It didn't fit anymore the mindframe of the youth, which became more drawn to the rebel angst-ridden grunge movement, which was the exact antithesis of all this. I mean, if "To Be With You" was a 2015 song, it would be a One Direction ballad, which is not necessarily a bad thing btw.
