Mountains was created in 2005, primarily as an outlet for live performance with an emphasis on the combination of acoustic instrumentation and electronics/synths. Mountains is on the Chicago based label, Thrill Jockey Records.
Mountains newest record “Centralia” will be released on January 22nd 2013.

centralia is great.. however air museum is still my favorite, it's just so mind altering, it feels like a vortex of eternal bliss...can't compare this to any other record..

centralia is probably my favorite mountains to date. it sublimely fuses elements of air museum with their older, electro-acoustic sound to create something new and fantastic. comparing it to emeralds is just lazy.
