Mother McCree's Uptown Jug Champions was a folk/bluegrass band made up of Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Ron "Pigpen" McKernan, Tom Stone, Dave Parker, and Michael Garbett. Jerry, Bob, and Ron broke off in '65 to form "The Warlocks," which soon became "The Grateful Dead."
