Moss Agate is an Auddy Award winning Bluesrock band from the Lansing, Michigan area. Formed by singer/songwriter, and lead guitarist Bob Lyon in the late 1990s, they are becoming known worldwide through their many websites,( MP3 downloads from i-tunes, Rhapsody, Amazon MP3, etc.), and rare, but amazing shows. Other band members include Len Janson on bass, Joel House on drums, and Joel Ellis on guitar. Mark Minshall played guitar and sang on their “Perspectives” album, which was released in Oct. of 2007. He also wrote one song on that album, “Everything Your Money Can Buy”. Their newest album to be released, “Madman At The Wheel”, features some live cuts from a show they did in Oct. of 2009 with the fabulous Savoy Brown, at the prestigious Michigan Theatre. Their musical roots stem from a wide range of influences such as, Savoy Brown, Mountain, Cream, The Animals, Leon Russell, Johnny Winter, Rory Gallagher, The Beatles, Stones, and so many, many, more. Those influences can be heard in their wide variety of songs ranging from Delta style Blues, easy listening, to full blown Rock and Roll. Both easy and fun to listen to, they tend to attract listeners from all age groups, and all genres. To sum it all up, Moss Agate is all about Blues, Boogie, and Rock & Roll!
