I'm still in shock as to how well The Amaneunsis turned out in the end. Baretto fits this band like a glove. It's a complete step up from Gnosis in every possible way.

I have to say that Saga City is one of the sickest songs I've ever heard in my life

Final comment, I promise. I still think on first listen that the new album is fucking sick. Over and out.

Ack, I said "in my opinion" in two sentences in a row. What would my GCSE English teacher think!?

"The instrumental vibe is very Vildhjarta-esque" - really? I can't really see where you're coming from as Vildhjarta's a lot sparser and darker in my opinion. The instrumentals of the new album are a lot, lot cheerier and poppy than Vildhjarta in my opinion.

The instrumental vibe is very Vildhjarta-esque and the rock/pop clean singing is catchy as fvck. Listen to the album like a whole and not song-by-song

Chris Barretto is a beast, but he is the only thing that makes the new album worth listening to. Instrumentally, it all feels very repetitious and uninspired. And that damn monotonous hi-hat murders the entire sound. While I wasn't a fan of 'Gnosis', I had higher expectations for this release.

Take off the voices from "The Amanuensis" and it sounds so fucking great!

Love how last.fm thinks that track 4 is called "Horclux". Blatantly the emotional tale of how Lord Voldemort trapped a portion of his soul inside of a chicken.
