has anybody seen wassup rockers? The song is used in a very effective way in the movie. Basically, the film is about a group of latino skateboarders who live in the deprived and violent South Central LA area, who face harrasment daily for not conforming to the 'ghetto youth' stereotype. One day, the group decide to skip school and go skateboarding in the wealthy Beverly Hills district, alot happens and they end up having to run from the police. On the train ride back home in the early hours of the morning, this song is played as the group stare distantly out of the windows, as images of their south central neighborhood blur by. Its sort of a different and more realistic potrayl of the ghetto, showing it as the run down, dark and depressing place it really is, wheras most mainstream rap music glamourizes the ghetto lifestyle.
