I guess I was wrong when I called this underrated, a lot of love for this track on here! One of their best, no question. WOODWIND.

The Madden/Summerall version explains where the title came from. :-) I'm partial to the horns on the CODY version, and the enhanced drum sound and better recording overall. That one, incidentally, I think may sample a high-school game; one of the teams is identified as "Aquinas," and I don't think there's a college by that name with a football team.

Yep, that'd be it. Thanks for the link, too, I didn't have it, myself!

I was intrigued by everyone talking about an "original version." Is this what you guys are referring to?

When I listen to this, I understand why Mogwai don't bother with lyrics. The music says what cannot be expressed with words. And this song is a great example of that. How it makes me feel, I really cannot describe verbally.
