Misty Dixon

Misty Dixon was the brainchild of ex-Kill Laura and solo artist Jane Weaver. Combining Weaver’s Rob Gretton-endorsed talents with those of Anna Greenwood, Sam Yates and the late Dave Tyack, Misty Dixon produced pop with an added edge of perverted sex.

The band released only one album, Iced To Mode, which melded pretty, sunshine pop with a deep, dark seam of twisted perversion.

Although the disappearance of drummer Dave Tyack didn’t initially deter them, Weaver later decided to concentrate on her solo efforts with the releases of Like An Aspen Leaf and Seven Day Smile, putting Misty Dixon on a near-permanent hiatus.

Sam Yates went on to set up a cottage industry in delivering handcrafted tunes for birthdays and other occasions, while Anna Greenwood went on a macrobiotic diet, split up with Elliott Eastwick, continued pouting and did a bit of DJ-ing with her mate “Weaves” at Cord bar in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
