MioceneBiography
Formed in 1998 in London, UK, Miocene were a highly influential progressive metal band who were among the first to truly embrace and regurgitate the emergent Intelligent Dance Music (idm) culture in the capital.
Three releases, Refining The Theory (2000), Cellular Memory (2002) and A Perfect Life With A View Of The Swamp (2006) chart their progress from bright eyed nu-metal upstarts to bloated prog rock legends.
Miocene are not an easy listen, since a typical listening will span everything from hyper technical polyrhythmic mathcore to ambient (and everything inbetween), but dedicated listeners are rewarded with a unique experience from a band with serious artistic integrity - and serious imagination - at work.
