Their old stuff is solid as all-hell, but this album is still decent. Toska is my jam right now.

I think most of us agree that Omni was a step backward, and this is probably a half step forward again

As many people have said... who knows what the hell happened with OMNI. It was ridiculous, and this is much better, but still not near Planet of Ice or Menos El Oso. “Heaven is a Ghost Town” is a pretty killer song though.

This album is so catchy...if this doesn't help them get more listeners, then people are stupid

Better than OMNI, not as good as their old stuff [2]

OMNI was a complete* flaming turd with some of the worst lyrics, melodies and instrumentation they've ever come up with. *Aside from Secret Country and Hold Me Down

I find it much much better than OMNI, without a doubt. It gets better after each listen.

MTB's first 4 albums (including Omni) were albums where each song, with both its music and lyrics, painted a picture of emotion and atmosphere. Infinity Overhead seems to nearly completely lack these qualities, other than "Lies & Eyes." The songs have more "normal" sounding guitar parts and the lyrics are just not up to their former quality, leaving the album to sound simply like a collection of songs about nothing in particular. Its still a decent album, but is by far my least favourite.

sixbarphasehey, I absolutely hated OMNI and only ever listen to 2 songs off of it anymore, but I can listen to this one straight through without cringing once. But maybe i'm the exception?

The album cover art sort of reminds me of this album's cover art: http://www.last.fm/music/Glasser/Ring

basically for those curious if you liked pretty much all of their work pre-omni but didn't like omni you won't like this album either. it's pretty much omni 2.

I've been hearing some not-so-great things about this album and now I'm afraid because I LOVED Planet of Ice and Omni.

it's okay. it's another minus the bear album. very good, not great, more of the same. A few standout tracks, like "Heaven is a Ghost Town", but it's no Menos El Oso. it's gonna be overshadowed by other recently released albums, and that's a shame. love them. maybe it will get better on repeat listens, like "Neck of the Woods" by Silversun Pickups
