As many people have said... who knows what the hell happened with OMNI. It was ridiculous, and this is much better, but still not near Planet of Ice or Menos El Oso. “Heaven is a Ghost Town” is a pretty killer song though.

I find it much much better than OMNI, without a doubt. It gets better after each listen.

MTB's first 4 albums (including Omni) were albums where each song, with both its music and lyrics, painted a picture of emotion and atmosphere. Infinity Overhead seems to nearly completely lack these qualities, other than "Lies & Eyes." The songs have more "normal" sounding guitar parts and the lyrics are just not up to their former quality, leaving the album to sound simply like a collection of songs about nothing in particular. Its still a decent album, but is by far my least favourite.

sixbarphasehey, I absolutely hated OMNI and only ever listen to 2 songs off of it anymore, but I can listen to this one straight through without cringing once. But maybe i'm the exception?
