Mingo (born 197?) is an ambient musician and composer based out of Colorado, USA. With a discography of over twenty years, he has explored a vast array of electronic music from techno to dark ambient.

Early Years:

In 1986 while still in his teens, Mingo released his first recordings under the name the Punked out Pansies. Over a four year period, the Pansies music had minimal electronic beats reminiscent of the band Suicide, with minimal to no vocals. Two songs, Johnny Bad and Eroded Cloudiness received airplay on many college radio stations in the Midwest.

By 1990, Mingo disbanded the Punked out Pansies and teamed up with Joshua Lockey. The new duo recorded and performed experimental electronic music heavily influenced by the Chicago industrial sound.

During the mid 1990’s, Mingo began creating and performing techno music at rave parties and other events. By the end of the decade Mingo’s sound progressed towards the ambient and space sounds being influenced by acts such as the Orb as well as Brian Eno and Steve Roach.

Career Since 2000:

In the late 1990’s Mingo moved to Denver, Colorado where he currently resides. After recording several self released EP’s, he started to record and release commercial ambient and dark ambient CD’s.
