Biography

Formed in Olympia, Washington, USA in 2008; Milk Music are a very loud, four-piece who make cosmic, electric, soul rock on the subject of life and the human condition. Sonically, their songs have often been compared to that of the Wipers, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Hüsker Dü, the Velvet Underground, the Gun Club, and the Meat Puppets.

Ever since their eponymous 2009 demo tape, they’ve continued to self-release all of their vinyl records and cassettes simply for the sake of maintaining quality control, doing things on their own terms, and keeping the soul in the music.

Cruise Your Illusion is a delightful guitar album. Listen to the songs and forget your music critic ego.

A lot of you jokers don't seem to get it. MM aren't trying to emulate Dinosaur, and DEFINITELY aren't trying at all to emulate grunge. They never have. They happen to have a lot of the same influences as Dinosaur does, which makes for a comparable sound. True artists are like hammerhead sharks, if they don't keep moving forward, they'll simply die. What I see with the second record is a band doing just that, maturing, experimenting, and staying alive. I was a big fan of Beyond Living, but I'm an even bigger fan after spinning this record, because it's a testament to their diverse tastes, individuality, and will to live. That's a real big part of what rocknroll is all about.

Beyond Living was way better than Cruise Your Illusion. New album sounds so uninspired in terms of playing and songwriting and even the production. Just about everything I liked about this band is absent from the new record. They sound like a sluggish version of themselves with poor melodies when their best quality was rocking out with propulsive drums actually prominent in the mix.

New album is a big improvement over Beyond Living, great guitar work throughout. But please stop singing like J. Mascis and find your own voice.
