Miles Kurosky is the former lead vocalist and guitarist for Elephant 6 indie rock band Beulah. He released his first solo album, The Desert of Shallow Effects, on March 9, 2010. The EP was released digitally on January 12, 2010.

The Desert of Shallow Effects was produced by Kurosky and engineered by former Beulah member Eli Crews and a cast of more than two dozen musicians, several of them former Beulah members.
