“Flamenco Sketches” is a jazz composition written by American jazz pianist Bill Evans. It was primarily made famous through the fifth track on Miles Davis1959 album Kind of Blue. The song has no written melody, but is rather defined by a set of chord changes that are improvised over using various modes of the major scale of each tonality.

Yes, Cannonball and Coltrane were on this song. This is the only song on the Kind of Blue album that was done in one take with very little rehearsal and Miles only gave the band members scales and melody lines in which to improvise. True greatness by everyone involved.
