The sessions that produced this, Relaxin', Steamin' and Cookin' are some of the best of Miles' career. Most people tend to focus on the Columbia years with Miles, but his work for Prestige was godlike. These four albums didn't break any new ground for him, really, but they do give us Miles at his Hard Bop best and it's arguable that they're the best in the entire Hard Bop subgenre.

My favorite Miles Davis album next to the ubiquitous Kind of Blue.
