I basically agree w/ANATOMIST BELOW... not many artists mine this vein, and nobody digs up anything that quite combines evil voodoo shit with the sublime like Miles. BUT the album "Music is Rotted One Note" by Squarepusher definitely pushes buttons and twirls knobs pretty legitimately close to this particular button. AND all of the songs are of a reasonable length, which is one thing I really dig about little slices like this "Rated X" from the "complete sessions" for the classic Miles fusion albums. (Don't get me wrong! I love me a lengthy excursion into the outer realms of impenetrable voodoo paranoia. It's just tough to fit it into my schedule.)

"Dark, paranoid and reverberating" - That's Miles described quite accurately!

I concur Zarqu. Very paranoid and paranoia-inducing. Feels like running into darkness down an ever narrowing tunnel.

Version that's live from the Philharmonic is way superior to the version on Get Up With It. See for yourself.

Damn, why couldn't this be a 32-minute track? For something vaguely similar to this, check out "The Brain of Oscar Panizza" by Michael Bundt.
