Mike Love is the lead singer of The Beach Boys. His main instrument is his voice but has also played saxophone, tambourine, and Moog ribbon controller. He has appeared on every Beach Boys album, writing mainly with Brian Wilson, but sometimes Dennis Wilson, Al Jardine or producer Terry Melcher. He tours now with Bruce Johnston. Mike has had little success as a solo act with his Looking Back With Love and Celebration albums, and has three unreleased solo albums.

Whatever I think about Mike Love's personality, I like him as a singer. Not technically perfect or anything but sounds very good in many Beach Boys songs. Though usually when he tries to sound romantic he just sounds sleazy. Sometimes that's good, sometimes bad. And sometimes it gives the song a whole new meaning. The music he has written ranges from good to boring. The lyrics he has written range from very good to awful. And note that I did not say anything about his personality.
