Heart of my heart, got to leave you today
You dont love me and you cant understand
Cut by the thorns, oh, I must loosen my grip
Got to let your flower fall from my hand

I don't think it's possible for this man to put out a song that sux. Everything he does is pure gold.

DonoTunes: the Rockity Roll version of 27 Jennifers sounds leaner and more real. The Golden Delicious version sounds overproduced, like Doughty accidentally let Timbaland or Steve Lillywhite into the studio to layer in a bunch of extra tracks. Listen to the lean drums and understated horns on this track -- so natural! The whole mix on this track would have been a great fit for the 27 Jennifers redux... but it didn't really need a redux.

Mike keeps cranking out tunes I can fall in love with, and here's yet another one. The whole album is well worth the investment, and be sure to see him live if you get a chance!

I think what's appealing about this tune is that it hails back to the old school Soul Coughing stuff.

Agreed, although 27 Jennifers deserves mention too. I can't decide if I like the Golden Delicious version or the Rockity Roll version better, though.

    Mine too! It's so repeat-able.
