One of the principal songwriters from the Drive-By Truckers, “Cooley”, as he is generally referred to, inspires ferocious loyalty from the people that understand him. Not quite the Lennon / McCartney or Tweedy / Farrar rivalries, the Cooley / Hood camps are more like the Jim Beam / Jack Daniels camps - a preferred version of their favorite drink.
