Born in Bronx, New York, the birthplace of hip-hop, Mickey Factz been exposed to music since an early age. As a child his father would rap to him, till soon enough he would start reciting his own rhymes. Mickey would then begin to watch music videos, as he studied the performances of his favorite artists. At the early age of 8, the combination would lead a child of music into a love affair with hip-hop that continues to thrive till this day.
Mickey’s undaunting work ethic is what has kept his persona and music viable since his inception into this ‘no-holds-barred’ arena called the music business. His talent has taken him so far to where he earned the recognition of Elektra Records and an offer for a solo deal from Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliot. But due to conflicts of interest he had to decline the offer. No worries though, ghostwriting for several established and upcoming artists and constantly reinventing himself through the successful release of several mixtapes—as he’s evolved from Renegade to Jack Danielz and now Mickey Factz—he’s been able to progress his music and brand.
His swag and clever wordplay has allowed him to mesmerize audiences from New York to Texas. Appearing in showcases at Joe’s Pub, The Village Underground, CBGB’s and opening up for Fat Joe & Trina at 2006’s NBA All-Star weekend in Houston, Texas.
