Mick Thomson

Mickael “Mick” Gordon Thomson, sometimes known as #7, is an American musician, best known as the lead guitarist for the band Slipknot.

Thomson joined Slipknot in 1996, replacing Craig Jones,[1] who then became the band’s sampler. Before Slipknot, Mick was in the band Bodypit with former Slipknot members Anders Colsefini, Donnie Steele and the late Paul Gray.

Originally, Mick donned a Jason-style hockey mask, painted a dark pea green type color. This can be seen on the cover of their self titled major label debut, “Slipknot.” Shortly after, Mick wore a dark silver leather mask made of separate pieces bound with metal rivets, with a nose opening cutout and vertical slats for his mouth. For Vol. 3, he switched to a molded latex mask based on the previous design, with some updated features.
