Inner City Unit (ICU) is a British Punk/hard edged Space rock band fronted by ex-Hawkwind founder Nik Turner on saxophone with Trev Thoms (guitar), Dead Fred (Keyboards), Baz Magneto (Bass), and Mick Stupp or Dino Ferari on drums.

The band was formed by ex-busker and blues man Dave Brock in Ladbroke Grove, London, who intended to marry simple three-chord rock with experimental electronic music. Sonic Assassins was a short-lived side project by Hawkwind members Dave Brock and Robert Calvert, formed specifically to play live in the south west of england, which was where Brock and Calvert were living at the time.
