Biography

Michael Lynche’s life has been defined by two things: love and second chances. The Florida native and devoted family man’s rise from obscurity was well documented through his riveting appearance on American Idol. Known to America as “Big Mike,” he was famously “saved” by the judges, giving him a second chance to continue through the prized competition.

After wowing millions of fans on American Idol with his comforting yet husky and powerful voice and performing throughout the United States as part of the American Idol LIVE! tour, Michael has created his sonically rich and lyrically inviting debut album. The first single, “Who’s Gonna Love You More” will be available for download on May 15 and impacts radio on May 21.

Mike’s heartfelt music has been virtually a lifetime in the making. He got his first guitar when he was three and would take his axe to church, where he would mimic the moves of the band’s guitar player. Beyond church, Michael’s mother shared her love of music with Mike and introduced him to a wide range of artistic sounds and styles, including 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., Michael Jackson, Earth, Wind & Fire, Bonnie Raitt and Jimi Hendrix.

Even though Mike was enamored with music and the arts throughout his school, his focus eventually shifted to football.

Lynche and Magnus both ruled that show. I put both of them before Andrew Garcia.. he was horrible week after week, yet AMERICA seemed to think he was just fabulous. Most of the show's contestants were average-sounding, in my opinion. In this industry, if you don't stand out, you don't make it. If twenty thousand artists sound the same, why bother signing them all?

Hahaha, look at how many plays he has compared to other people who didn't even make it half as far as he did...poor guy.

I really never like him at first but I have to admit he got much better towards the end and he was by far the most consistent contestant this season. I can give him that much.

Just one slight lol moment....Crystal also doesn't label herself. She has stated that on the show before. Does that mean she doesn't know who she is either?

He does deserve it because he was CONSISTENT. Siobhan, though good, WAS NOT CONSISTENT....she was all over the place. Good one week. Terrible another. She couldn't keep it together. I guess it has something to do with her not knowing who she is...meaning she doesn't label herself---those people are lost. You used the worst two phrases online---"I'm not being racist" and "Just Saying"---ick.

Your right he doesn't deserve fourth place, he deserved AT LEAST second. You keep saying that Siobhan is better than him, on what scale? She screams better than him, I'll give you that. But Michael was undeniably a better TECHNICAL singer than Siobhan even on her best nights. (Don't get me wrong, I like Siobhan) Michael was the best TECHNICAL singer out of any of the contestants. Just because you don't like the way he sings, doesn't mean he sings bad.

Oh yes she was, way better. In any case, now that Michael is out, I might rewatch the program again. The only reason he made it this far is probably because they needed an african-american in the show to make it less racist - and I'm not being racist right now, I'm just saying, he doesn't deserve this 4th place.

Oh hell no she was NOT better than a screaming child on her bad nights.

He's consistent, and that's where you should have stopped the sentence. Despite his consistence, his level was still way below Siobhan's, she was better than him in her good and bad nights.
