Tabloid Junkie (4:33)

Cover of History

From History and 6 other releases

Tabloid Junkie comes from a period of Michael Jackson’s life where his reputation is seen as controversial in the public eye. This track is a direct attack on the integrity of the media and the ease of which people believe in their headlines. Obviously Jackson had his fair share of ‘bad press’ and decided to fight back within his music. This is a reoccurring theme in his last few albums and clearly evident here in ‘History’. Strong vivid words and the more subtle combine together to create his perception on the modern media…

Just because you read it in a magazine or see it on the TV screen, don't make it factual. Absolutely right [16] this song is a slap in the face of people who believe all things that the media talks. [7]

Love the ad-lib "Sunday Times not a friend of mine" towards the end.

I especially love his songs that are against the media, like this one, Leave Me Alone, D.S. and Privacy.
