Michael Caruso, born in Philadelphia, PA, he grew up in Los Angeles, CA. Caruso studied both music and theatre at the world renowned American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Manhattan.

Music and singing were always Caruso’s greatest passion, and Michael relocated to Los Angeles, where he was hired on as a staff songwriter for Homegrown Music, Sony Music Publishing and The Geffen Music Group. While in LA, he scored three gold records, one for each of those respective publishers. “Love Is” recorded by Vanessa Williams and Brian McKnight, was nominated for a Grammy in the best of R & B vocal category and recently earned Michael a special citation of achievement from BMI for garnering two million broadcast performances.

Caruso’s next co-publishing venture was with the Chrysalis Music Group. Chrysalis in association with RuffHouse Records prompted Caruso’s important move to Nashville. As a songwriter Caruso landed three cuts on the Rita Coolidge album “Thinkin’ About You” and the hit single “Runaway Love” for Chris LeDoux’s Capitol Records CD “One Road Man”.

His songs have been recorded by notable artists such as Maura OConnell, The Sons of Champlin, Vanessa Williams, The Dells, Brian McKnight, Mike LeCompt, Michael Sembello, The Immigrants, Lita Ford, John Purdell, Rogelio Martinez, Jeff Paris, Tamara Champlin, A Perfect Day, Terri Nunn, Vixen and many others including Joan Jett with her version of Caruso’s “Long Live the Night” from Geffen’s “Days of Thunder” soundtrack.
