uninspired music. It's good, but it lacks that ingredient that makes it great

I have NEVER heard a guitar player wizard back off on 90% of thier licks in favor of appeasing the whiney little girl cries of "too much senseless and midless shredding". Let me interpret that for you - I'm am so far behind MAB with my own guitar playing that I can't even fathom what feelings he's conjuring up". Go listen to No Doubt or buy a Paul Gilbert video and practice a little.

Well, shredding speed isn't exactly something that amazes me anymore. It just seems to be missing the mark when it comes to a really great piece of music. Sure, note for note gets boring...but so does senseless, mindless shredding.

The fresh take is great. Note for note gets boring quick, especially for players with tremendous chops.

I dig it and I believe that Jimi would not find fault with this song. 'Tis definately a revisioning!! And I approve highly, even tho I am stone cold sober!! Timothy :o)

It's more of a re-imagining than a cover. If you go in wanting it to be Hendrix, you're going to be disappointed. I suggest listening to Batio's "From Jimi: All Along the Watchtower" on Hands without Shadows 2 (2009) for a truer cover; it even has some respectable vocals. I like both of them, the energy is tremendous.

Um...wouldn't have recognized the song except for a few melody hooks... Blatant overkill.

To be honest, this seems like a totally different song except a couple key places, like 0:45 to 0:59.

i love MAB but somehow i dont like this version at all. i think the drummer overplays, and where is the bass? pretty hard to top Hendrix on this one!!!
