Michael Alan’s first album in 12 years Michael Alan Alien is available in limited release of 240 copies for $15 including shipping in the US at:

Michael Alan has been making music on and off for the last 17 years. Before he was a full-time fine artist, he had a career in music making. He was compared to ODB on 90 bags of coffee, a sober Darby Crash and an artist who ate all his paintings, so he chose to focus more on his paintings and drawings.

Through the Living Installation Project, he has returned to using music as a soundtrack to his art. It helps connect the performers, the many talented musicians he collaborates with and the audience to becoming a part of The Living Installation. Michael was inspired by the large amount of what he calls arty music from the 1980s until now that deserves its place within a gallery, museum, or art setting. Since then the project is growing to friends, family, all the way to someone like Jello Biafra who Michael always admired. Using what Alan calls his “mouth brush,” he’s able to collaborate with those he feels have the strongest music he’s stumbled on. He felt it was important to him as a painter to get back into music as a part of his art.
