MiaMia is a poet and composer/producer of music. She was born in Oradea, a city in Romania, just past the border of Hungary, almost at the foot of the Transsylvanian mountains.
She came to The Netherlands 1988 at the age of eight. And apart from fluent English, she also learned Dutch in three months time. The art of language and audiovisual design have always drawn her attention.

In 1998 MiaMia entered the industrial design study at ArteZ in Arnhem. After three years writing and film turned out to draw her attention more than industrial design and in 2001 she decided to quit her study after all and change direction. During this period she performed as a poet in different Dutch cities and had some poems published.
Meanwhile she graduated from the school of media/ audiovisual journalism and endulges in different facets of media; text, image & sound - working as a writer and editor.

She also does collabs with video-artists and photographers and if the time given, she performs live at various Dutch festivals like State-X New Forms, Gogbot, Star6/Todaysart&ADE, Slowlands and Dag in de Branding. Regarding sound, another of MiaMia’s dream and ambition is to be producing sound for film and video, theatre or interactive installations.
