There are at least two artists that are known by this name:

1) MiChi (born Michiko Sellars, on April 7, 1985 in Birmingham, England) is a Japanese pop singer of English-Japanese ancestry. When she was two, her family moved to Kobe, Japan before returning to England in 1995. Determined to be a singer, she performed in an acoustic duo, and soon after returned to Japan when she was 18. The following year she met Tomokazu Matsuzawa (producer for acts such as Mika Nakashima, Miliyah Kato, SOULHEAD and CHEMISTRY). The pair worked together for three years developing her talent before MiChi entered Japan’s dance club scene. In 2007, she released the track “Surrender” on a dance compilation which was followed a year later with her independently released English LP, “MiChi Madness.” The album saw chart topping dance hits and a long chart life.

In 2008 a slightly remixed version of ‘Promise’ appeared in commercials for Japanese cell phone provider, NTT docomo. The original version reached a peak of 12 in the Oricon weekly charts later on. ‘Promise’, along with other singles ‘Change the world’, ‘Kiss Kiss xxx’ and ‘You’ appeared on her debut album, ‘Up To You’, released on 30 September 2009. It reached a peak of 4 on the Oricon weekly charts, selling 53,000 copies. most recently her latest single, ‘Something Missing’ was featured in commercials for the 2010 video game, Bayonetta.

She always seems to be making new stuff on Instagram, so I hope she's got something in the pipeline. She seems to spend all of her time in London or NYC now. English album maybe?

So far, I prefer THERAPY to EYES WIDE OPEN, but again, I haven't listen to the new that long. THERAPY was amazing though so its hard to beat it.

Guys, please, fix your tags. Not HEARTBEAT(album mix), but HEARTBEAT (album mix)

They're both far from being bland records and I like them equally for different reasons. THERAPY is adventurous and more introspective, with a lush production. EYES WIDE OPEN is a cheerful stripped-down record with a more organic sound in which MiChi sounds as confident as ever. 'MadNesS Vol 4' sets the right mood and 'Just because' is a career-high.

Sorry but are people calling THERAPY bland listening to the new album? Because there's absolutely no edge anywhere on this record. Even the new MadNesS is tame.

"THERAPY" was okay but a little bit too bland for someone like MiChi imo. [2] I think it was a bit lackluster, it didn't have that happy, jumpy MiChi edge.

Ah, "THERAPY" is more introspective, and there are some songs with such a strong feeling that impacts me a little more than the other two albums. But it's a very personal point of view, I think her fanbase prefer "UP TO YOU" and "EYES WIDE OPEN" too, I'm weird, haha

I didn't see what was so good about THERAPY, I much prefer EYES WIDE OPEN.

Nearly Maybe, Journey and YOUR Life are my faves. I'm still preferring "THERAPY" but this new album is very good too.
