Totally agreed on the cryptofa thing, playing around with swastikas and NS symbolism is just too cheap. Even for provocation, it just tells how sterile and unthoughtful people are, the case is to start being creative instead of just leeching upon a movement that just works with all that is available without a need for much coherence.

well, i dont know if craig is just trying to play around with the "cryptofa" bullshit. anyone who visited the methadrone myspace b4 may have spotted boyd rice among the top friends, himself being kind of the godfather, constantly trying to make an asshole of himself playing around with NS ideology while at the same time denying to be a Nazi and collaborating with musicians who would not really fit in that category. i cant understand how someone who makes such beautiful and deep music like Methadrone comes up with "übermenschen über gott", this just looks like a bad joke to me. some of my favorite bands like Nadja or the guy from fragment. worked with craig, i'd like to know if they were aware of his "attitude" - or how serious it really is

I'm french and (because of the story of my country) I was disappointed when I learned that Craig flirted with all this NS stuff, but... I just can't stop listening to Methadrone. It's a little like Burzum or the Toolbiac Toads, who made a beautiful song with William Sheller ("l'Empire de Toholl"). So I go on. I hope that Methadrone will serve us a lot of new songs.

For a further example see Encyclopaedia Metallum referring to This Empty Flow (ex-members of Thergothon) as "Gothic Doom."

A thought- does anyone else get annoyed when projects (such as this) by metal musicians are called metal when they aren't? For some reason the doom and sludge tags for this piss me off because I feel like metal fans that like ambient shit are so afraid to admit they listen to something that isn't metal- doom is a stretch for this and sludge is just bullshit.
