Nothing Else Matters is 8th track off Metallica’s famous “Metallica” album (referred often to as “the Black Album” due to the cover art). The album has sold over 25 million copies world wide. It was Metallica’s first, more popular sounding album. Nothing Else Matters, is a stadium ballad that includes arguably one of the most climatic guitar solos of all time. The track was composed and written by James Hetfield to his girlfriend whom he missed during long touring sessions. The track became a massive hit instantly after the album was published. Producer for this song is Bob Rock, and Lars Ulrich is a co-writer.

And besides I love it when I go to top listeners' of this song profiles and find that though Metallica is our top artist taste-o-meter is on Low. Why? Because they only listen to fucking Nothing Else Matters! This track wasn't even meant to be on that damn album. Unforgiven I is this album's ballad. NEM was meant for James' wife and not for all the posers out there! As James once said before playin Metal Militia (I think it was this or Four Horsemen) "With this next track we're gonna kill all the fake people out there, all the posers!"
