THE PASSION FOR GRINDCORE
This sums it all up for Dan and Fred, who started jamming together in mid 1997. The musical choice was not difficult to make. Call it mincecore, grindcore, crust/grind, hardcore grind, deathgrind or what-the-fuck-ever else, for us it’s simply OLD SCHOOL GRINDCORE.
Since that time there has been many line-up changes, but since late 2004 we are Dan (drums), Fred (guitar), Steve (vocals) and Jack (bass).
We have put out many different releases on various labels around the world. Main ones being MESRINE/TRAUMATISM/NYCTOPHOBIC 3 way Split CD in 2000, Going To The Morgue CD in 2001, MESRINE/DEPRESSION Split LP/CD in 2003, I Choose Murder CD in 2005, Jack Is Dead (1999-2004) CD in 2005, MESRINE/BADTRIPPE Split CD in 2006. And of course many split 7” releases. Our new album “Unidentified” has been released in spring 2007 by Power-It-Up Records.
A few short tours have been done across Canada, but our first main tour was a 5 week European tour in september 2005 that took us to Belgium, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Holland and France playing 27 shows.
We did our first Full Canadian tour in june 2007 from Quebec city to Vancouver. We plan on continuing to play brutal grindcore for as long as possible while always staying true to our roots. Check out our official website at WWW.MESRINE.ORG
