Okay, that was a pretty awesome gig.
I got into the venue with about 10 minutes left of Double Dragon's set. They sucked; just a typical metalcore band with no interesting music to offer at all. After a short break just long enough to grab a beer and get back into position, Megadeth came on. They started with Set the World Afire which is a song I was not to familiar with, and the crowd seemed to agree, with just headbanging going on. I was about 6 rows back slightly right of centre which I was happy with. Plenty of Chris Broderick soloing was to be had over there. Wake Up Dead came next, which the crowd loved and there was a bit of movement to be had. We were thrown a different song in Devil's Island, which is a song I have loved for the lyrics, which were sung in extremely quick succession. I think it was at this point (please correct me if I am wrong) where Dave cracked it and said "we will be back when someone fixes this fucking feedback"…

2 Feb 2007, 15:00 by TornfalkKilling Is My Business... and Business Is Good! is the most humorous Megadeth album. Several songs have some kind of ironic twist ending, like Last Rites/Loved to Death about the limits of love, or Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good about a normal working day in the life of a contract killer. The song Chosen Ones becomes absolutely hilarious once you realize that the lyrics have been lifted straight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. These Boots is a laugh out loud funny cover version of the Nancy Sinatra song that unfortunately is not included (or included but censored) on some versions of KIMBABIG because of copyright issues.
Other tracks on the album sets up the imagery associated with Megadeth: Skull Beneath the Skin dealing with the creation of the band mascot, and Rattlehead providing the name.
The songwriting is very strong overall. This is hardly a surprise considering that Mustaine had already had plenty of practice writing songs for Metallica. …
31 Jan 2007, 21:07 by McMartin06Ok, on Saturday 27th January 2007, I finally managed to complete my Megadeth remasters collection (along with Hidden Treasures, The World Needs A Heroand The System Has Failed) and to celebrate I have decided to review each and EVERY album from the earliest to the current most recent. So today I will be reviewing Megadeths debut album - Killing Is My Business(remastered)
For these reviews I decided to keep it simpy and just focus on the music rather than any history behind the album as then I can just focus on writing the best track by track review possible.
Ok...So lets start!
1.Last Rites/Loved To Deth
Well what a way to get things started! You can tell the tone of this song as soon as you hear that piano. Its so dark and evil and sets the scene. Then after some wierd buzzing noises which builds up the atmosphere it descends into full speed metal mayhem, ridicolous speed and Daves demoonic raw voice makes for a perfect mixture along with some classic Mustaine solos thrown in for good luck. …
