Maximum Sixty is a band born out of the southern suburbs of Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. An interesting fusion of classical, funk, blues, rock, and world, M60 brings a new, diverse and fresh take on popular rock music.

From the depths of Junior High School history class grew the roots of what flourished into the band M60. Forced to perform a musical etude to the theme of Roman Gods - budding musical artists, Alex Riel (bass), Lyle Mackenzie (guitar) and Tyler Wagar (guitar/keys) discovered a common pulse between them, which caused them to pursue their experience a little deeper.

In their first year of High School, drummer Jordan Froese and singer Brendan Cade joined the ranks to complete M60.

The new arrivals allowed M60 to experiment with live shows. Playing venues from schools, lounges, to nightclubs and theaters, the band was able to improve upon their tones, their personal playing styles and their interaction with each other and the crowd.

Enriched by the cultures, news, media, earth, and lives around them, they began performing original material suited to their own identity. They came closer as friends, and as performing musicians. Discovered by well-named industry professionals, Gilles Paquin, Chris Burke-Gaffney and Dale Penner they began recording in the summer of 2008 with Chris and Dale.

The tour will coincide with the band’s EP release, an explosive and powerful rendering of many musical genres and is sure to place Maximum Sixty among Canada’s greatest pop/rock acts of today
