3.) Maverick is a Washington, DC based Hip-Hop emcee and producer. With a sound firmly rooted in the sampling from the 90s as well as the instrumentation of today, emcee/producer Maverick has become a very highly-demanded commodity these days. Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, this Washington, DC transplant has been catching the attention of some very notable individuals since producing Quartermaine’s “Strictly for the Disco”, which was featured by Pete Rock and Peter Rosenberg (of New York’s Hot 97.1FM) on the Cornerstone Mixtape. Since that time, Maverick has provided beats for underground artists like Low Budget’s Cy Young and R&B newcomer Bilal Salaam, performed in shows with Jeru The Damaja and 88 Keys, as well as releasing his own solo instrumental project, The First Step, which has been garnering a lot of attention all across the globe.
