Maureen Tucker, born August 26, 1944 in New York, is mainly known for having been the drummer of The Velvet Underground, giving them a unique, monotonous sound. She played often up-standing and turned the bass drum so that it was lying on its open side, creating a more dull sound while beating it.
On some songs she was the singer as well, like on her solo and other band projects. Her broken and also monotonous voice stays uncomparable.
