good sounding (albeit borrowed) music. uninspired, boring vocals and tired, trite lyrics. sounds like he said to himself, "how close can i get to sounding like a old black man as possible?" Cast in that light, this music is almost disrespectful in its lacklusterness. and this is why he is not famous. there are people who have already made this music and have made it far better. if you're thinking about checking this guy out, just listen to the Five Blind Boys of Mississippi, Dixie Hummingbirds, the Swan Silverstones and the like.

I think fans of Matthew E. White might dig Major Deluxe from Belgium. Both of their albums are available on Spotify. I particularly recommend the track "Everything is Black (On a Sunset Blue Day"). I'm not affiliated with them in any way, BTW. Just passing along good (and obscure!) music.

The album feels like a hug. Also, if it was 0.1 better and Best New Music, this place would be full of people right now. [2]
