Matthew D. Becker was born in London, Ontario on 26 January, 1984. Playing piano since he was nine, he first developed a desire of composing when he was twelve. At sixteen, he composed his first piece. Since 2000, he has decided to dedicate his life to composing, and in 2008 he graduated with a BMus from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.
Becker draws a lot of influences from film music, video game music, as well as electronica, ambient and rock. As a result, he attempts to combine some of these elements into his music. His inspirations are Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Koichi Sugiyama and Nobuo Uematsu.
