Matt Baxter’s parents decided he wasn’t musical when he quit his recorder lessons around the age of 6. Luckily for him he took up guitar lessons at the age of 9.

Then he quit. Matt’s inability to stick with things he found difficult finally yeilded when he began teaching himself guitar at age 15 and managed to play a song. He didn’t even let the fact that it was “Wonderwall” put him off and where many have been content at knowing this one song, he went on to learn a few more that seemed to go down well enough in the pub.

After eventually becoming half decent on his instrument, he learnt to sing and played in various outfits of various genres from folk/blues to metal and hip hop. You might still be able to hear him playing a few dodgy covers in some quiet, backwater village pub, but we can only hope that you’ll actually see him playing his own music somewhere nice where they sell good beer, maybe a selection of good rums or whiskeys, but not crisps coz they’re too posh for crisps.

Check out his blues trio Mojo 57 if you’re into that kind of thing.
