Ahhhh yes... directly from Nick Drake's 'Time of no reply' to this. No, I don't adjust my volume.

1:29, what the fucking hell! After 8 years of banging to this album, I find myself constantly air drumming with it. Brann Dailor's drumming on this album is competing for best drum performance everrrrr.

A common complaint about Mastodon is the "shitty" vocals, and I can understand where it comes from. Especially early on, they were nothing to write home about. What I DON'T understand is how it can take that much away from enjoying the music as it is. The vocals are fitting, if unspectacular, and have DEFINITELY improved between Remission and Crack The Skye. Anyway, listen to "March of the Fire Ants" and tell me anyone could have done a more fitting set of vocals for it. It works, and as far as I'm concerned, when it doesn't work it never takes away from how amazing Mastodon are as a metal band.

Must see them live. Show reminded me of where Metallica was at in their career around 1982 or 83. Epic show Mastodon will own metal before they are done. They are just getting started. Right it down! Peace.

As awesome as the drumming is, whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy do the vocals suck so bad? I've never been able to get into this band because of that.
