leviathan is their best
unbelievably boring Crack the skye >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> leviathan
Probably my favourite album ever. Either this or Blast Tyrant by Clutch.
\\/ Actually it is Crack the Skye, but since both are from Mastodon, I can't beg to differ even tho i'm disagreeing already. Oh, wait, I'm confused.
Greatest metal album of the 21st century.
Moby Dick is "not that good at all?" Get out of the asylum much?
Fucking huge an album. Mastodon's first album I listened to. Although the book is not that good at all lol.
Just can't believe that this masterpiece turns 10 years old today.
Even the cover references Mellville's masterpiece of American lit.
"Nothing else they do will ever top this." You know a band is great when you see some variation of this comment for each of their albums.
Nothing else they do will ever top this.
How the fuck can you even compare Crack the Skye to Leviathan? Sheesh.
There is no tie breaking contest between Crack The Skye and this. I just listened to that album, followed by this ass kicker. Crack The Skye is slow and boring. This album is layered with riffs, killer drumming, solos, and tons of feeling.
Did someone say too little feeling!?
Easily my favorite Mastodon album.
I THINK THAT SOMEONE IS TRYING TO KILL ME...
This just riffs WAY too hard m/m/m/
tight between this and Crack the Skye, but for me the latter takes it by inches
I must say that album is so much better if you know the concept and lyrics
10 killer tracks, truly, their finest album!
The link to the piano version got buried, so here it is again! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h85KV5e6t-E&list=TLFtXFz5PijOM
Mastodon's finest album.
I hear waves and oceans in these guitars! Besides being porn for the ears, Mastodon's albums always absolutely nail their concept.
this is The Album. it changed my life.
That album cover... damn.
This was a tad disappointing after first listening to Crack the Skye. Plenty of aggression but too little feeling for the story it's trying to tell. The last four tracks are killer though.
this album is fantastic. so many good memories!
I hear waves and oceans in these guitars! Especially in Seabeast and Hearts Alive, if Ahab was alive he would listen to Leviathan
Happy birthday Moby Dick!
if you listen to this album and did not read yet to melville's book, please give it a try!
По-моему, самый нудный их альбом. Сколько раз пытался проникнуться, но понравилось песни 3 от силы. Вопчем, поголовная любовь народа к этому альбому мне совершенна не понятна.
I don't usually bitch about production but wow does it sound weak and anemic here
Six tracks in and I kinda feel like this album is really overrated. :/
by far their best. still so great.
This along with Frances the Mute by The Mars Volta are the only albums I definitely consider my favourite albums of all time.
Seabeast, Iron Tusk, Megalodon... here is the good stuff.
The piano cover on YouTube is incredible!
I hear waves and oceans in these guitars!
o shit! I hear waves and oceans in these guitars!
If you like Leviathan check out this, the whole album just played on piano, fantastic!
Very underwhelming considering all the good things I heard about it. Blood and Thunder is an absolute monster of a track but the rest all blends into one until Hearts Alive and Joseph Merrick for me.
Damn good album, but I found it really underwhelming after all the hype it got.
