Masters of Persian Music is a Persian music group. The 2010 Masters of Persian Music: Three Generations performers include:
Mohammad Reza Shajarian: Vocals
Hossein Alizadeh: Tar
Kayhan Kalhor: Kamancheh
Mohammad Reza Ebrahimi: Barbat (lute)
Pezhham Akhavass: Tombak and Daf
Hamidreza Maleki: Santur
Rouzbeh Rahimi: Santur

Hamid Reza Nourbakhsh: vocals
Homayoun Shajarian: vocals and Tonbak

They are superstars in Iran, and they are generally viewed as Iran’s greatest classical musicians.
They also tour abroad.

Their album Faryad (“The Cry”) was nominated in the category of Best Traditional World Music Album at the 48th annual Grammy Awards.

    Anyone know if they have any North American tour plans? I saw them several years ago (unfortunately without Hossein Alizadeh as he had a visa issue) and would love to see the full group at some point.
